There is potential for more low-cost carriers in Asia flying on 3-4h international routes if governments allow a degree of market liberalisation, according to a study from Australia's Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation. Demographic and economic progress and congested and high-cost hub airports could spur intra-regional traffic between secondary airports, it believes.
