Wilbur Trafton, director of US space organisation NASA's Space Station programme for the past two years, has been named Associate Administrator for the Office Of Space Flight, taking on additional responsibility for the Space Shuttle programme. Trafton, a former US Navy captain, joined NASA in 1994.
