Icelandic low-cost carrier Wow Air is to add Chicago as its 10th North American destination.

The Reyjavik-based operator says its service to O'Hare airport will begin on 13 July and be operated four times per week.

Chicago joins a list of North American destinations that already includes Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, Newark, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Toronto and Washington DC.

FlightGlobal schedules data shows that Icelandair will provide direct competition on the Reykjavik-Chicago route.

Wow's flights to Chicago will be operated with Airbus A321s. Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that the airline has seven of those narrowbodies in service, along with two A320s and three A330s.

It has six A320-family jets on order: one A320neo, one A321neo, and four more A321ceos.
