SDRC is promoting its new TeamCenter collaborative product management software on Stand B12C, Hall 3. The product builds on the success of SDRC's Metaphase software, which is used by Raytheon, Bombardier, Honeywell and other aerospace companies.
The new software suite enables 'virtual enterprises' - separated geographically, but linked via the Internet - to work together on the planning, development and support of products and projects.
Tim Nichols, SDRC's vice-president aerospace marketing, says: "TeamCenter is especially useful in situations where JVs and acquisitions have taken place. It means teams get synergies fast, speeding up a product's time-to-market and ultimately saving money.
Growing
"Aerospace and defence is the fastest-growing market for us - up to 40-50% a year," he says. TeamCenter was launched just one week ago and uses an open architecture. This allows it to talk to other systems such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CAD (Computer Aided Design).
Its support for 'virtual prototyping' eliminates the need to build physical models every time a design changes.
