The Denro Systems unit of Northrop Grumman has won a 10-year contract from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to supply voice communication switching systems (VCSS) to its Automated Flight Service Stations (AFSS).
These stations provide flight planning, advisory and communications services to general aviation pilots in the USA. The VCSS will serve as the main communications link between pilots and the AFSS. Up to 65 systems are planned, with the initial two-year base period order worth $3.5 million
