Philippine start-up Skyjet Airlines has begun operations with regular charter services from its base in Manila.
The carrier has a leased BAe 146-200 and Dornier 328 in a single-class configuration, says Roel Sibayan, from the airline's sales and marketing department.
Skyjet started with a thrice-weekly regular service on 15 March from Manila's Ninoy Aquino International airport to Basco, a city in Batanes province in northern Philippines. It will also offer ad-hoc domestic and international charter services with the aircraft, he added.
The airline, which is owned by an "aviation-related corporation", plans to add another BAe 146-200 by June, says Sibayan.
