POLAR AIR CARGO is to begin scheduled Boeing 747 all-cargo services between the USA and Europe on 27 April. Two weekly flights will be operated from Chicago O'Hare and New York Kennedy to London Heathrow and Amsterdam Schiphol.
Polar plans to extend the service to the Middle East and India in the third quarter of 1996.
Return flights will connect Europe with Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South America, says the Long Beach, California-based carrier. One weekly flight will continue on to Atlanta, Los Angeles, Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne. The other will continue on to Miami, Sao Paulo, Asuncion, Buenos Aires and Santiago.
Polar, which has been in existence for less than three years, operates 12 747 freighters and plans to add two more aircraft in 1996.
