Honeywell's Primus 2000 integrated avionics system has been selected as the standard fit on the Fairchild-Dornier 428JET for regional airlines and corporate operations.
The Primus 2000 suite includes an integrated set of computers and sensors displayed on five 8x7in displays, all working together using the General Aviation Manufacturers Association's Avionics Standard Communications Bus (ASCB). The ASCB eliminates many wiring requirements and allows integration across the entire network.
Honeywell already provides its Primus Epic avionic system for the 528JET, 728JET and 928JET and has been selected as team lead to provide the fly-by-wire flight control system for the Fairchild Aerospace 728JET.
There is an added bonus in fitting the same avionics suite across a family of aircraft.
John Uczekaj, vice-president and general manager, Honeywell Commercial Electronic Systems, says: "The Primus 2000 system provides commonality with the 328JET and is a logical choice among customers because peak-hour demands can be accommodated with no change in crew by substituting the 328JET for the 428JET."
