Smiths Aerospace has been chosen by Hurel-Hispano to provide the next generation Electro-Mechanical Thrust Reverser Actuation System (ETRAS) and the power drive unit for the power optimised aircraft (POA) technology development programme. The POA thrust reverser actuation system is being developed as part of the Technology Platform within the European Community (EC) fifth Framework Programme. Deliveries will start in the fourth quarter of 2004.
