China Southern is seeking to make a bigger push into Italy, with requests for rights to Milan and Rome.

The state-owned carrier is seeking to launch thrice-weekly services on the Guangzhou-Milan and Shenzhen-Rome routes from July.

It also wants to add a flight to its six-times weekly Guangzhou-Rome service from the same month.

FlightGlobal schedules data shows that China Southern will be the only operator on all three routes.

China Southern also operates a thrice-weekly Wuhan-Rome service.
