Cobalt Air has returned its leased London Heathrow slot to Virgin Atlantic.

A notice on the website of UK slot co-ordinator ACL shows that the returned slot applies during the summer 2019 season.

Cobalt suspended flights earlier this year, but earlier this month had its operating licences returned to it and was given one month to find a new investor. A source told FlightGlobal that reactivation of Cobalt's licences was linked to Virgin Atlantic's indication of an interest in potential investment and would allow the UK carrier to reclaim the slot it had leased to the Cypriot operator.

Cobalt conducted a Larnaca-London Heathrow service this summer with an Airbus A320.
