China Southern's first A350, set to enter service imminently, will come with CTT Systems in-flight humidifiers for crew and business-class passengers.

The carrier selected the equipment for the 20 Airbus A350-900s it has on order.

CTT says three humidifiers will be placed in business class on each of the jets. Additional units will be installed in the flightdeck and crew rest areas.

The system will raise humidity in business class from 6-8% – "far below the recommended level for human comfort, health and well-being" – to 22%.

China Southern operates five Airbus A380-800s, all equipped with two CTT crew rest humidifiers, and 10 Boeing 787-8s with three humidifiers, one in the flightdeck and two in crew rest areas.
