Images distributed on social media appear to show a Western Air Saab 340 has come to rest in rough ground at Grand Bahama airport in Freeport.
The aircraft – the registration of which is unconfirmed – is pictured with doors on its left-hand side opened, including an overwing exit.
Local reports indicate that the aircraft departed the runway at around 17:00 on 7 February, having travelled from Bimini.
It is said to have taken off from Freeport before carrying out a return to the airport shortly afterwards.
Thirty-three passengers are reported to have been on board, but none is reported to have been seriously injured. The extent of damage to the aircraft is unclear.
Western Air has a small fleet primarily comprising Saab 340 turboprops, according to Flight Fleets Analyzer. The carrier is based at San Andros airport in the Bahamas.
