Aero Systems Engineering (ASE) of St Paul, Minnesota, is teaming with Kilpatrick Green, an Australian engineering and construction firm, to modify a transonic windtunnel for the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation's Aeronautical and Maritime Research Laboratory in Melbourne. The contract, valued in excess of $9 million, calls for improvements to aerodynamic-flow quality, a more powerful compressor-drive system, an integrated ASE2000 real-time computerised control and data-acquisition system and three advanced model-aircraft support systems.
