CFM International and the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) are close to completing the joint definition phase for the C919 single-aisle narrowbody.
In December 2009, COMAC selected CFM’s new LEAP-X engine as the powerplant for the C919.
The aircraft is due to enter into service in 2016.
COMAC has forecast global sales of more than 2,000 C919 aircraft over the 20 years following entry into service.
