Boeing has scheduled the first flight of the 737 Max 9 for 13 April in Renton, Washington.

The aircraft is scheduled to be airborne around 10:00 for roughly 3h, Boeing says.

The first flight comes only two weeks after Boeing completed first flight of the 787-10. It also follows the 50th anniversary of the first flight of the 737-100 on 9 April 1967.

The re-engined 737 Max 9 will replace the 737-900ER in Boeing's single-aisle line-up. It is scheduled to enter service in 2018.
