Hong Kong business jet provider Asia Jet is eyeing growth in the Greater China market, as it prepares to add more aircraft types to its fleet.
It will add a Cessna Citation XLS+, its sixth aircraft, to its fleet by end-May and aims to add its first Bombardier aircraft this year, starting with a Challenger 300 in July. This will be followed by a Challenger 605 at the end of the year, says Asia Jet's CEO Mike Walsh.
It also plans to leverage on a partnership it recently signed with China Eastern Airlines' business aviation division to grow its presence in mainland China.
The three-year partnership will allow for Asia Jet to base aircraft in mainland China, such as a Gulfstream G200 that will be based in Nanyuan Airport south of Beijing. Other aircraft, like a G150, will be based at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, says Walsh.
"We hope to bring two aircraft a year into Hongqiao as well as other domestic airports," he adds.
