Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) has completed the preliminary design phase on its C919 narrowbody jet, and has embarked upon the detailed design phase.
Comac aims to wrap up the detailed design phase in 2012, it says.
The company has won up to 100 orders for the C919, which it announced at Airshow China in Zhuhai last November. It aims to conduct the first flight in 2014, followed by entry into service in 2016.
