Crane Aerospace & Electronics has been selected by Embraer to provide the landing gear and hydraulic control units (LGHCU) and associated sensors for the Embraer Legacy 450 and 500 Executive Jets.
The new jets from the Brazilian manufacturer (stand C5) will have the largest and quietest cabins in their classes, according to the Flightglobal Pocketguide to Business Aircraft, and will be the only ones in their segments equipped with cutting-edge fly-by-wire electronic flight controls.
The LGHCU's function on the aircraft is to monitor and control the position of landing gear and landing gear doors, hydraulic valves, and nose wheel steering. Both the Legacy 450 and the Legacy 500 jets will include two LGHCUs and several dozen proximity sensors.
