AeroCivil, Colombia's civil aviation agency, has approved a plan to integrate Avianca and Aces. The two airlines will keep their brands, but under common ownership. The decision is subject to undisclosed conditions. Initially denied on competition grounds by the industry and commerce superintendent, Aces and Avianca appealed and the superintendent's office agreed to transfer the case to AeroCivil.
