Threats of strike action at Airbus’s UK facilities have been averted after members of the Unite union voted to accept a new pay deal.

Unite says the result means industrial action “will no longer take place”.

Strikes had been planned over several days in September but a walkout was put on hold while a new pay offer was considered.

The union says the one-year agreement – which followed “prolonged negotiations” – includes a 3.6% pay increase, a one-off payment, and pension enhancements.

“This agreement reflects the hard work and commitment of our members while supporting the company’s long-term stability,” says Unite national officer for aerospace Rhys McCarthy.

Unite represents over 3,000 aircraft engineers and fitters at the UK division of the airframer.
