E C "Pete" Aldridge has become the new president of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). He was president of the electronic-systems division of McDonnell Douglas until 1992 and has since been president of The Aerospace Corporation, a non-profit-making organisation dedicated to science and technology transfer.
