A Bombardier Q300 operated by Air New Zealand (ANZ) subsidiary Air Nelson touched down on its nose at Blenheim today in an emergency landing after its nose wheel failed.
The aircraft was operating on a flight from Hamilton to Wellington but it was diverted to Blenheim, on New Zealand's South Island, because of an "unsafe undercarriage", say reports.
ANZ confirms that the aircraft had experienced a "nose wheel failure" after landing.
There were 41 passengers and three crew members on board the aircraft. No one was injured, says ANZ.
"Passengers are being looked after in the terminal and alternative transport is being arranged," it adds.
