B/E Aerospace has been selected by four major airlines to outfit their new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft with next generation business and coach class seats.  The firm portion of these awards is initially valued at more than $100 million, and will increase to more than $150 million after expected orders for oxygen systems, passenger service units and various food and beverage products are confirmed. The total value of these programmes would be approximately $250 million.

B/E will supply Air China, Continental Airlines, Japan Airlines and an undisclosed Asian carrier with new business class seats for their Boeing 787 aircraft. It will also  provide new generation coach class seating for Continental on its Boeing 787 fleet.

Stephan Azelart enjoys a double celebration as B/E wins the 787 order and a Crystal Cabin award.

"Continental is among the most successful and highly respected global airlines, and is a new customer for our seating products business. As such, our dual class award is particularly gratifying, and validates the investments we have made to develop the most innovative and lightweight seating solutions for each of our customers," says B/E’s Amin J. Khoury, chairman and chief executive.

B/E Aerospace expects to supply cabin interior products to the vast majority of Dreamliner customers. These include premium and economy class seating, food preparation and storage equipment, beverage makers, ovens and refrigeration equipment. The OEM is also the sole supplier of integrated passenger service units for the Boeing 787, which supplies passenger and crew oxygen, overhead reading lights, air gaspers, signage and related equipment.
