Turkish Airlines has confirmed its firm order for 26 Boeing 737-800s, plus 23 options. It has still to confirm its expected Airbus order. Qantas has ordered three B747-400s, for delivery in 1999 and 2000. Tunisair has ordered four B737-600s, with options on three more B737s. Eastwind Airlines has ordered two B737-700s, for delivery in April and June 1998. Cargolux has ordered five B747-400 freighters, plus two options, with deliveries starting in October 1998.

Finnair has chosen five Airbus A319s, three A320s and four A321s for delivery in early 1999. TAM has ordered five A330-200s plus five options, with deliveries starting in late 1998. Tunisair has ordered four A320s and three A319s, for delivery between summer 1998 and spring 1999. Leisure International Airways will lease its fifth A321 from Gecas.

Midway Airlines has ordered 10 Canadair CRJ-200ERs and options for 20 more for delivery between November 1997 and December 1998. British Airways franchisee Maersk Air has ordered three CRJ-200LRs, plus 12 options, with deliveries from the second quarter of 1998. Brit Air has converted two options for CRJ-100s into two orders, for delivery in 1998.

Eurowings has ordered five ATR42-500s and five options. Iran Asseman Airlines has ordered two ATR72-210As for delivery in 1998. Air UK has ordered four ATR72-200s, plus one option, for delivery from December 1997 to March 1998. Air Tahiti has ordered its fourth ATR72-210A.

Great China Airlines has ordered two de Havilland Dash 8Q-300s, for delivery in late 1997.

Luxair has ordered two Embraer EMB.145s and two options, with deliveries due to start in August 1998.

British Airways franchisee CityFlyer Express has ordered a fourth Avro RJ100 for delivery in June 1998. Meanwhile Eurowings is leasing four more BAe146s.

Air Philippines is acquiring six B737s from United Airlines. Saeaga Air is leasing two A320s from Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise. Fortis has delivered an ex-TAP Air Portugal L.1011 to new Swedish airline Novair, and an A310 to Vasp subsidiary Ecuatoriana. Meanwhile, British Airways Regional is leasing seven B737-300s to replaceB737-200s.
