Antonov's parent company is forecasting that the Ukrainian airframer will deliver 70 aircraft over the next five years.

Defence conglomerate Ukroboronprom has developed a comprehensive marketing plan for Antonov, drawing on independent expertise and analysis, and taking account of Antonov's capabilities and its current array of arrangements with foreign partners.

"For instance, the plan forecasts that the global market will require around 900 medium-size freighters by 2032," says Ukroboronprom. "Within the next five years, there is a niche for delivering up to 20 An-178 transports to customers in the former Soviet states, Asia, and Africa."

Ukroboronprom also notes Antonov's "plan to return to the competitive passenger aircraft market" with An-148/158 and An-140 regional models. Overall, it sees a potential for at least 70 deliveries of Ukraine-built twinjets and turboprops within the coming half-decade.

Following a government decision to consolidate, Ukroboronprom in 2015 took over all Antonov assets as well as the Kharkov State Aircraft Manufacturing Company and Kiev-based MRO provider Civil Aviation Plant 410.
