American Airlines will start New York/JFK-Buenos Aires services from October three times a week with a B767-300ER. Frequencies are set to rise to six a week by end 1996.

Continental Airlines is to launch a daily service from New York/Newark to Manchester, UK from 15 July using a B757 aircraft.

United Airlines has filed for route authority on Denver-Calgary, to start from May, and San Francisco-Calgary, to start from 7 June. The carrier will also launch Denver-Nashville services from June.

United has signed a marketing agreement with Royal Brunei Airlines, with codesharing envisaged later.

Polar Air Cargo has started a twice weekly freight service from Atlanta to Sydney and Melbourne via Los Angeles, with a weekly service serving Auckland. The carrier will also link Atlanta with Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul and Taipei.

Air Malta is set to launch services to Birmingham, Budapest, Casablanca, Larnaca and Thessaloniki. The carrier is also looking at Beirut and Warsaw.

Air Canada has applied to serve Manila three times a week, extending its Toronto-Vancouver-Seoul route, from December using a B747.

Lufthansa will start three weekly flights from Frankfurt to Odessa and twice weekly services to Baku from May. The carrier has already started twice weekly Munich-Kansai/Osaka and Munich-Bangkok-Singapore services using A340s. New routes have also been launched from Munich weekly to St Petersburg and five times weekly to Zagreb; from Köln/Bonn daily to Rome; five times weekly to Copenhagen and twice weekly to Venice.

KLM will connect Amsterdam with Memphis four times weekly from 27 June using an MD-11, and start a new service to Almaty, Kazakhstan from 25 September.

Uzbekistan Airways has started a weekly A310 service from Tashkent via Riga and Amsterdam to New York.

Italian independent Meridiana has launched five weekly Florence-Amsterdam services.

Air Inter has started twice daily services between Paris/Orly and Amsterdam.

Finnair has started twice weekly services to Kansai/Osaka and Bergen.

Tyrolean Airways has started eleven weekly flights between Vienna and Hannover in cooperation with Austrian Airlines.

VLM of Belgium is to extend its Antwerp-London/City route to Hannover.

Air France has launched 10 weekly frequencies between Strasbourg and Hamburg using a Eurowings' ATR-42.

TAP Air Portugal has launched a weekly Porto-Hamburg service.

Eva Air will launch three weekly services from Taipei to New York/JFK from 17 May using an MD-11.

SilkAir and Sempati Air have launched four joint weekly services from Singapore to Lom-

bok with a SilkAir Fokker 70.
