Air India will complete the cabin retrofit programme for its Airbus A320neos by this month, about a year after upgrading works kicked off.
The Star Alliance operator says 26 of the 27 older A320neos have already been retrofitted with new cabin products, with the final jet close to completing its retrofit.

In June 2024, Air India disclosed plans to retrofit its older A320neos, adding for the first time a premium-economy product.
The newly-retrofitted A320neos will seat 164 passengers, compared to between 162-186 passengers in its previous configuration. Air India has tapped Collins Aerospace for the new seats across three classes.
In August this year, the carrier also began retrofit works on its widebody fleet, with the first of 26 Boeing 787-8s inducted in Boeing’s Victorville, California facility.
The update on the cabin product upgrades come as Air India ramps up domestic and short-haul international capacity for the year-end.
Flights between Delhi and Kuala Lumpur, as well as Denpasar Bali, will each see three additional weekly flights added, with Air India noting that demand on its Southeast Asia network remains high.
On the domestic network, Air India will be adding more than 160 weekly flights from 26 October, including to the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat, as well as Madhya Pradesh.
