South Korea's new Incheon International Airport will formally open for business on 29 March. The airport's name has also been changed from Inchon following the decision to use the English spelling of the city, just west of the capital Seoul. A new airport is to be built in the northern Chilean city of Copiapo. The $30 million airport, which will replace the current facility at Chamonate, is expected to handle 200,000 passengers a year. Manchester Airport opened its second runway for business on 5 February. The 3.2km (two miles) long runway will be instrumental in helping raise airport capacity from 18.5 million last year to 40 million by 2015. Aeroporti di Roma has agreed to join the Amsterdam Schiphol and Frankfurt airports alliance Pantares. Milan's SEA may also sign up soon.
