A second terminal for Kuwait International Airport, with an annual capacity of 5 million passengers, is being proposed by the communications ministry. Due for completion by 2006, it will cost an estimated $129 million. Terminal 1 now handles 4 million passengers.
Brussels South Charleroi Airport has opened its €1.25 million ($1.23 million) terminal to allow it to cope with steady passenger growth resulting from low-cost operator Ryanair's activities.
Raytheon has won a $30 million contract to supply and install a primary radar to serve Al Ain and Abu Dhabi international airports. The contract covers the supply of an L-band primary approach radar, aircraft surface movement and guidance control systems, air traffic control work stations, safe altitude warning systems and a voice control and communications system.

The £3.5 million ($5.4 million) air traffic control facility at Liverpool Airport has opened. It features a 55m (180ft) high control tower, radar room, air traffic engineering, airfield lighting engineering and administration area.
Billund Airport in Denmark has opened its new passenger terminal, increasing its annual capacity from 1.2 million to 3.5 million.
A new R40 million ($1.3 million) passenger terminal has opened at Lanseria International Airport, north of Johannesburg. The facilities, with upgraded car parks and two new domestic and international aircraft aprons, mark the completion of the first phase of a comprehensive R100 million expansion programme. Lanseria's masterplan includes additional hangars and a second passenger terminal.
Bahrain's Civil Aviation Authority is inviting contractors to prequalify for a $5.2 million contract to build a new air traffic control tower at Bahrain International Airport. The project is part of a $200 million expansion for which a feasibility study and masterplan have been prepared by Netherlands Airport Consultants.
