Alcatel is making live demonstrations of its AmerHis system by providing a real-time video conferences between the Alcatel pavilion at le Bourget and Hispamar in Brazil, EMS in Montreal and Hispasat in Madrid. AmerHis offers real-time video streaming. The demo has been possible thanks to an ESA demonstration van parked next to the Alcatel exhibit. AmerHis will provide its services between any users within the Amazonas satellite four Ku-band coverage zones, which includes North America, South America, Brazil and Europe. Alcatel developed the AmerHis technology as part of the ESA ARTES and the Spanish national R&D programmes.
