Innovative Solutions & Support announced that American Airlines had ordered its Cockpit/IP flat-panel display system for nearly 200 Boeing 757s and 767s. Deliveries will begin in the fourth quarter of the year.
The installations will replace 22 individual cockpit instruments with four full-colour flat-panel displays that offer significantly improved reliability as well as being readily modified for extra functionality or to meet future regulatory requirements.
Since last October IS&S has received orders for flat-panel displays worth $75 million for a variety of aircraft, including Citation business jets, Pilatus PC-12 business turboprops and Eclipse 500 very light jets in addition to the American 757s and 767s.
