French electronics specialist Sagem has acquired Leica's military optronics divisions, Leica Vectronix and Leica Technologies, for €40 million ($43 million).
Stellex Aerostructures has sold its Scanning Electron Analysis Laboratories (SEAL) subsidiary to a management buyout team led by SEAL president Dr Arun Kumar for an undisclosed amount.
BAE Systems North America has acquired communications and signal processing specialist Advanced Power Technologies of Washington DC for $27 million cash. Earlier this month the company bought service provider Mevatec of Huntsville, Alabama, for $82 million.
General Dynamics' $1.1 billion bid to acquire the defence division of General Motors has been cleared by the US Justice Department and the purchase will probably go ahead by the end of the month.
