Atlantic Southeast Airlines is to lease five British Aerospace 146-200s, in a deal which not only represents the US feeder carrier's first move into jet-airliner operations, but also sweeps up most of BAe's remaining owned-fleet of regional jets. The aircraft, which are being taken on five-year leases from BAe's Assett Management Organisation (AMO), will be delivered by February 1996.The airline has taken another 15 options, which, if exercised, could take the total value of the deal up to $160 million.
