A J Walter Aviation (AJW) is at Farnborough celebrating a Royal connection as well as showing off its expertise in the supply and repair of commercial and military spare parts.
The UK-based firm has just been awarded The Queen's Award for Enterprise.
The company (Hall 1, C21) is currently celebrating its 70th year in aviation. Staff on the stand will be explaining how the firm has an inventory of more than 310,000 parts for all aircraft types and provides a 24h, seven days a week service.
Increased
In the past three years, it has increased overseas earnings by 66%, raised the proportion of its exports to 74% of total sales and more than doubled the number of employees
Managing director Christopher Whiteside says: "Receipt of the award, with the status and international recognition that it confers, not only provides us with an incredible sense of achievement and a boost to our morale, it also reinforces the pride in the business that is felt by all of our employees and partners around the world, which is fundamental to our success.
Demonstrate
"Although we have been in business since the dawn of aviation, it is only in the past five years that we have been able to demonstrate that AJW can play on the world stage of aviation, rather than selling to a predominantly UK-based market.
"Everyone knows that aviation is a cut-throat business and a roller-coaster ride, but by diversifying into a wide range of products and services – and trading in more than 100 countries – we have minimised any cyclical downturns to great effect."
