BASE wins Gimbal deal

British Aerospace (Systems and Equipment) (BASE) is to supply the fire-control radar-elevation gimbal assembly for the British Army's McDonnell Douglas WAH-64 Longbow Apache helicopters, under a ú4 million ($6.7 million) contract from Northrop Grumman Longbow International. The platform will be stabilised by a three-axis variant of BASE's RG600 solid-state gyro.
