Boeing and Korean Air have held a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of a new aviation training facility being built at the Incheon Free Economic Zone.

When it opens in 2015, the training facility will house 12 full-flight simulators for pilots training and will also support other training programmes for Korean Air.

Boeing says that it will relocate its existing training support staff and equipment to the new facility, and will also continue to provide all simulator training and pilot checking operations.

"Boeing and Korean Air have a training relationship spanning almost 15 years,” says Boeing Flight Services vice-president Sherry Carbary. “We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Korean Air as we together to develop advanced aviation training programs from a new base in Incheon."
