Bombardier regional jet output during the second quarter dropped to a single CRJ700, but deliveries of Q400 turboprops improved year-on-year to 14.

The commercial aircraft division blamed lower demand for a 25% reduction year-on-year in overall commercial aircraft deliveries during the three-month period ending 30 June.

In the second quarter last year, Bombardier delivered 11 Q400s, six CRJ900s, two CRJ700s and one CRJ1000.

First half output is down by almost half, as overall deliveries dropped from 43 a year ago to 22 this year.

Meanwhile, Bombardier reported a firm order backlog for 223 aircraft, including 138 CSeries jets. The backlog has increased by 18 orders since 31 December by picking up 40 new orders along with 22 deliveries.
