Brazil approves Embraer ERJ-145 variants

Embraer has received Brazilian supplemental type certification for its EMB-145SAairborne early-warning and EMB-145SAground-surveillance aircraft. Both are based on Embraer's ERJ-145 regional jet and have been developed for the SIVAM Amazon surveillance programme. The EMB-145SA is equipped with a roof- mounted Ericsson Erieye radar, while the ground-surveillance platform is equipped with McDonald Dettwiler synthetic aperture radar and a FLIR Systems AAQ-22 forward-looking infrared sensor.
