FLEXIBLE FRACTIONAL
Fractional ownership operator Bombardier Flexjet has expanded its secondary service area to include all of Central America and Canada. The expansion will allow Flexjet fractional aircraft owners to travel to and from any location within Central America and Canada without incurring ferry fees which absorb the cost of repositioning an aircraft back to the USA. Flexjet has also stripped remarketing fees from the programme so customers no longer have to pay the maintenance and administration costs needed to place a jet back into inventory after the conclusion of a contract. These can constitute as much as 7% of the fair market value of the jet.
EXTENDED OFFERING
Modification specialist Sierra Industries has launched an extended range upgrade for its Cessna Citation re-engining programmes. By modifying the aft fuel tank Sierra says the Citation I, II and S-II models gain an additional 455 litres (120USgal) of fuel capacity which allows up to 60min of additional cruise time and extends range by up to 740km (400nm). Uvalde, Texas-based Sierra says it has installed a double-walled aluminium fuel cell in front of the aft cabin bulkhead, minimising changes to the aircraft's centre of gravity. "The 120gal fuel cell is only 18in [460mm] in depth, making the modified Citation I cabin virtually identical in size to a CJ1 and allowing ample room to retain a useable aft toilet," it says. System installation includes adding a new pressure bulkhead, fuel lines and venting equipment.
