UK flight inspection services provider Flight Calibration Services (FCSL) has acquired a fourth Diamond DA62 piston-twin to bolster its growing business.
A pair of DA62s are already in operation with the company, which specialises in inspecting and calibrating ground-based navigation aids – including instrument landing systems and primary and secondary radars – for airports and airfield owners.
A third aircraft is scheduled to arrive before the middle of May, and the fourth will be handed over in November, says FCSL director Matt Taiyeb.
"We are adding extra units to fill the growing demand for our services,” he adds. “We already cover 99% of the UK's airports, and are expanding fast internationally, with Europe, the Middle East and Africa particularly strong markets for us.”
FCSL says it provides inspection services for every airport in Ireland, Lithuania, Malta and Portugal. In the Middle East, the company has long-term service contracts with airports in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. In Africa its inspection services are deployed at airports in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Libya, Morocco, and Nigeria, Taiyeb confirms.
FCSL also operates a DA42 piston-twin and a pair of 50-year-old Piper PA31-350s, which will eventually be phased out, Taiyeb says.
