British Aerospace Flight Training (Australia) has won pilot-training contracts worth A$6 million ($4.4 million) with the Australian Defence Force (ADF), Malaysia and Taiwan.
Under the contract with Malaysia Airlines, the British Aerospace training group will train 32 new cadet pilots for the airline, including the 45 students already at the school. Eighteen pilots will start at the group's Tamworth, New South Wales, college in August, and a further 16 will train at Prestwick, Scotland.
The National Taiwan University has now contracted BAe to train a second course of 12 pilot cadets from October.
The company has also reached agreement with the ADF on a contract from September, for the basic flying training of 62 Australian Regular Army trainee pilots.
