Emirates-CAE Flight Training has received commitments from several Gulf and Middle Eastern operators for training on a Bell 412/212 helicopter full-flight simulator to be installed in Dubai at the end of 2005. The machine combines CAE's Sim XXI platform and Tropos visual system, similar to Gulfstream IV, Gulfstream V and Hawker 800/800XP business jet simulators in the training centre, a joint venture between Emirates and CAE.
Meanwhile, SAS Flight Academy, which operates a Bell 412/212 flight simulator at its Stockholm Arlanda airport centre, plans to expand its helicopter training portfolio. The academy has agreed to market basic helicopter training, commercial pilot's licence and instrument rating courses developed by Sweden's Proflight Nordic.
