Cambodian authorities have found the wreckage of a passenger aircraft that went missing on 25 June and at this stage there appear to be no survivors.

The wreckage of PMT Air’s Antonov An-24 was found on a mountain located on the border with Kampong Speu province and Kampot province in the south of the country, says Cambodia CAA director of flight operations Teo Sivoon.

It went missing at around 10:50 on 25 June while a domestic flight from Siem Reap in the north to Sihanoukville, a coastal town in the south. The crash site is only about 100km from Sihanoukville.

When asked if any of the 22 people on board survived, Teo says there is “not yet” any report of survivors and “there’s no complete info on that yet”.

He says it was raining when the aircraft went missing and crashed into the mountain.

Teo was unable to confirm if the aircraft, local registration XU-U4A, had a traffic alert and collision avoidance (TCAS) system.
