CMC Electronics has received Canadian certification for its SureSight I-series infrared sensor for enhanced vision systems (EVS). The sensor is used in the EVS developed by Bombardier for the Global business jet family and scheduled to be certificated this quarter.
The sensor is integrated with a Thales head-up display (HUD) in the Bombardier EVS, which will be standard on the Global Express XRS, optional on the Global 5000 and retrofittable to the Global Express.
Montreal-based CMC's SureSight has also been selected by Rockwell Collins as the IR sensor for enhanced vision systems on the Bombardier Business Jet and Dassault Falcon 2000EX, 900DX/EX and 7X. The sensor will be integrated with the Rockwell Collins Flight Dynamics HGS-4860/5860 HUD.
