Thales and Westland Helicopters have signed a charter that sets out how the two companies will work together more closely on common programmes.

Alan Johnston, managing director of Westland, and Francois Quentin, Thales senior vice-president, aerospace, put pen to paper on the agreement.

The 'relationship charter' was developed following detailed reviews of working practices on key programmes, says Phil Jones, Thales UK helicopter director: "This charter aligns with the Thales Aerospace customer commitment initiative - a scheme implemented to ensure that every opportunity to improve performance is captured and exploited to the benefit of customer and supplier."

Alan Johnston added: "The charter reinforces the growing relationship between Westland and Thales.
