Comlux Completion has delivered its first VIP widebody project with the handover of an Airbus ACJ330 to a private owner.

The aircraft is privately managed by sister company Comlux Aviation. The Zurich-headquartered firm also operates a widebody Boeing BBJ 767 and a BBJ 777 for VIP charter under its Aruban AOC.

Comlux executive chairman and chief executive Richard Gaona says the success of the high-end completions project has enabled the company to enter the small and exclusive "club" of twin-aisle-approved completion centres. "We have successfully demonstrated our skills on this A330 airliner and are now bidding for other widebody contracts," he says.

Comlux describes the ACJ330 as having an "ultra-spacious" interior of over 2,150sq ft (200sq m), and is designed for its passengers to travel in "ultimate comfort".

The twin-aisle features first-class seating, master suites, lounges, a dining area, gym and entertainment area.

Since opening its doors in late 2008, Indianapolis-based Comlux Completion has completed 12 green airliners and refurbished a host of narrowbodies.

Work is now under way on the first BBJ Max 8 – for delivery at the end of 2019 – and an Airbus ACJ320neo, which will be handed over to its owner in 2020, says Gaona. Comlux Completion will take delivery of a second ACJ320neo this year.
