The UK's first mission-equipped Raytheon Sentinel R1 Airborne Stand-off Radar (ASTOR) battlefield reconnaissance aircraft pictured during its 26 May flight debut from L-3 Communications' Greenville plant in Texas. The modified Bombardier Global Express business jet reached an altitude of 15,500ft (4,730m) during the 4h 24min flight. Five R1s will enter service with the Royal Air Force's 5 (AC) Squadron from next year.
