Standard Aero has signed two new contracts with Lockheed Martin for the maintenance of Rolls-Royce AE2100 engines in support of the C-130J Hercules programme. The two-year contracts cover maintenance for both the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and the US Air Force.
Valued at around $45 million, the contracts mean that Standard Aero will perform all depot-level maintenance on the AE2100 engines. While the USAF work will be handled at Standard's Winnipeg facility in Canada, the Australian work will be undertaken at the company's new Sydney workshop, due to open later this year.
Standard Aero president Dave Shaw says: "This is a foothold into the future of C-130J maintenance work."
