Rolls-Royce has been awarded a 12-year, £50 million ($76million) contract to support Spey engines powering BAE Systems Nimrod MR2s. The contract is intended to last until the Nimrod MR2 is replaced by rebuilt, re-engined MRA4s Lockheed Martin has won a $70.5 million order from Egypt for 15 Lantirn targeting and navigation systems. BFGoodrich has been selected by Lockheed Martin to supply engine mounting pylons for the C-5 Reliability Enhancement and Re-engining Programme. The contract, lasting until 2015, covers 504 pylons and is valued at around $300 million. Hunting Contract Services has maintained its hold on an agreement to provide contract maintenance for 18 BAE Systems Hawks used by the UK Royal Air Force's 100Sqn. This follows a rebidding competition as the original five-year contract came up to expiry. The US Navy has ordered a fifth Boeing 737-700C convertible freighter for its Navy Unique Essential Replacement Aircraft programme to replace its McDonnell Douglas DC-9s. The first navy designated C-40A is currently being flight tested by Boeing and is due to be delivered in early 2001. This latest $54 million order calls for delivery of the aircraft in July 2002.
